About Us

In 2001, I welcomed orange roan cocker spaniel DizzyDog into my life. After a relationship split where Dizzy stayed with my ex-partner, I returned to the same breeder and brought Muppet home.

At that point I would describe myself as “a basic pet owner”. I had a dog, we went for walks and that was about it. Great as it was, I thought we could do more. Like all dog owners I firmly believed I had the best dog in the world and wanted everyone else to share in that so Muppet and I embarked as volunteers for Pets As Therapy and Muppet became a PAT Dog. From there things sort of snowballed. Muppet was lightly shown in Open & Championship shows and although placed, how anyone keeps a cocker that clean was beyond me.

I took Muppet through her Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme and then went on to not only teach the scheme for several years but became an Approved Examiner for the Kennel Club at Bronze, Silver & Gold levels having tested over 700 dogs to date.

Muppet really opened up a new world for me. Most weekends I can be found doing some sort of dog activity albeit TD Scentwork,® Rally, basic Agility, Clicker Training or something more academic, TTouch, Dog Law or Canine First Aid workshops. I gained my Microchipping qualification and have represented Pets As Therapy at Crufts for many years. In 2010 Muppet won the PAT Dog of the Year and was presented in front of nearly 10,000 people at Crufts. I regularly add to my CPD by attending, behavioural, legal, first aid and cognitive workshops.

Another return visit in 2010 to Muppet’s breeder resulted in Krumble joining the family. Described as “the brains of the operation” and constantly on the go, she is also a registered PAT Dog. Krumble and I started our sniffing journey in 2012 when it became apparent that Krumble was under stimulated, bored and destructive. We signed up for a Talking Dogs Scentwork® workshop and, as they say, the rest was history! I gained Accredited Handler status in summer 2013 and Accredited Trainer status in spring 2014.

Oh yes…..and my day job? I am a Senior Area Manager for a large medical device company. I cover a huge area of the UK working in the speciality of Reproductive Medicine. I have been with the Company for over 10 years now and it is about the only thing I do that is not dog related!

I currently run my own workshops based entirely on the TDS® ethos and structure in Bath and Banbury but I am also available to teach at host venues in the southwest. Please look at the hosted venues for more information
